Biography brief
Professional
In my 14 years of experience, I have built, managed and sold 3 successful IT/ web businesses. The first in IT outsourcing services with 12 full time employees and over 50 part time students in 3 years. The second in mobile middleware software with 43 employees & 4 international sales offices, also in 3.5 years. The third, a Web 2.0 user-generated experience-sharing marketplace website that permitted users to capture, package and sell 'what they experienced'. I also restructured a 10-year-old ISP where I doubled ebitda and revenues in 2 years. In 2008, I was the director of digital strategies for Media Transcontinental inc., the biggest consumer magazine publisher in Canada and was responsible for leveraging all the offline and digital assets to maximize the business benefits they provide to the organization, through organic growth and acquisitions.I have since then consulted many recognized brands in digital strategy and its execution using project management. Teaching and Public speaking
I've recreated and now lecture what became the acclaimed Technology Entrepreneurship course at the bachelors and master's level at L’École Polytechnique de Montréal and, punctually, at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. As well, I am an award-winning member of the Toastmaster’s Organization, and am on my way to becoming a Professional Speaker.
Social involvement
I was a very involved member of the exclusive YEO (Entrepreneurs Organization) on the local, national and international board for 9 years. I was on the International Benefits Committee and Technology Advisory Committee where I oversaw the development of a 25 000+ internet peer to peer network.
Along with my professional work, I volunteer my time to weekly animation of a group of thirty young people aged between 18 - 25 years as well as mentoring many future entrepreneurs.
Distinctions
I've received over a dozen entrepreneurship, technology or leadership awards and I am a regular speaker at tech and entrepreneurship conventions. I was a selected participant in the Governor General Leadership Convention 2004 with Mr Paul Desmarais Jr. as Chair and am a vice-chair for the 2008 Quebec tour.
Family
My wife was a criminologist who worked with Child Protective Services / Youth Protection Program. She currently holds the most important title on earth: mom to our 3 boys under the age of eight.
I am a strategic, experienced and results-oriented leader, a relationship-builder, always exceeding goals and objectives, able to make the tough decisions, solve problems and drive consensus.
