Faith in my life
My Bible-based faith has been the driving force in my life. God has truly blessed me with incredible talents in entrepreneurship, public speaking, business and technology. He has blessed me with a loving wife, three beautiful boys, a wonderful family and caring friends. Perhaps most importantly, He has blessed me with the opportunity to do His will by working in the service of others.
At an early age, I learned that "to whom much is given, much is expected" (Luke 12:48). I therefore place great emphasis on using my God-given talents to give back to the community and the people around me. Throughout my professional career there has always been a component of my activities focused on my values and helping others. Later on, I have learnt to rely on Grace and made 1 Cor 15:10 my life verse 'But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed on me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.'
The Bible being the basis of my faith, I believe I am saved through Grace through faith in Christ. Why Grace ? It is the one thing that I have found that separates the Bible from everything else. It has nothing to do with anything I can do. In my life, it has been, and continues to be, the most irrational and powerful experience I have ever had.
My beliefs and spirituality permeate my values, my personal relationships, my business interactions, and my volunteer activities. I do not impose any of my beliefs on anyone, but I do try to be an example of them. I thank the Lord every day for His grace, for allowing me to see another day, for the salvation and continuing sustenance of his grace, for the food before me when I eat, and for the people he has brought into my life. In reading Bible scripture on a daily basis, I (oh, so imperfectly) strive to allow God's Word to be the compass that guides my life. And though there are still many things I do not understand, I am humbled and in awe of His presence, grace and love.
