Over the years, I've collected some famous quotes about attitudes and how they affect my life. I hold fast to the notion that values and attitudes dictate a lot about what happens around me. Essentially, these quotes promote the simple concept of being comfortable in one's own skin, being true to one's belief system and not being afraid of other people's opinions.

I don't usually just post a video in this blog, but once in a while, one comes along that reaches inside, takes a hold and doesn't let go. The first question I ask wannabe entrepreneurs when they tell me they come to me bright-eyed about starting a business. This is my final post on my grandfather. Today was the funeral service and it was quite touching. Feels good to remind ourselves of real priorities in life. I wanted to share my eulogy (in french). Following my last post, I got to thinking what values I think are the ones that I identify with and strive the most towards. I met with a VP of a national professional speakers association recently and she asked me an interesting question : Chrystian Guy (www.cguy.org), a friend of mine and literary artist came up with 4 'hanging approaches' to desperate situations. Impressive how it adequately describes our common reactions, all related to the word 'hang'. Sebastien Provencher, from praized.com, quoted JG Ballard on his blog and I thought it was worth repeating here. It is interesting to see the relationship between your local Yellow Pages and your society. Former City of New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani gave us a brilliant and memorable quote at the Republican Convention a few days ago. (I'm not showing my colors - I've watched most of both Conventions). I was sitting with a colleague during lunch and we were talking about how many leadership decisions are taken today to avoid bad press from the people they are taking decisions for. |
